Email Account Settings Overview for Mobile & Desktop Devices

            Introduction


            If you are setting up your email account on a device for the first time, you will need to make sure that all of the following information is properly entered during the account setup process. The exact steps in the setup process differ depending on your particular devices and software. 


            If you have trouble finding these settings during the setup process, we recommend that you contact the support channels associated with your device/software so that they can help you locate these settings on your device/software. 


            For your convenience, we have included set-by-step tutorials for some popular software:

            Email Account Settings


            Username: "you@yourdomain.com" (i.e. your email address)

            Password: The password we provided you.


            Account Type: POP3 or IMAP (If in doubt, use POP3. IMAP is used mostly for mobile devices.)


            Incoming Mail Server: mail.xynapse.ca

            Incoming Mail Server Port: 995 for POP3, 993 for IMAP.

            Incoming Mail Server Encryption: SSL (this is required)

            Security Setting: SSL\TLS


            Outgoing Mail Server: mail.xynapse.ca

            Outgoing Mail Server Port: 465

            Outgoing Mail Server Encryption: SSL (this is required)

            Security Setting: SSL\TLS


            NOTE: Your outgoing mail server does require authentication, but uses the same address, username and password as the incoming mail server.
